Our Safety Principles
Every feature on MinervaSpring is assessed against these principles before it reaches your child:
- Safe by default — Privacy settings, content filters, and interaction boundaries are set to the most protective level from the start
- No dark patterns — We do not use manipulative design, countdown timers, fear-of-missing-out messaging, or artificial urgency to drive engagement
- No addictive loops — Sessions are designed with natural stopping points. We encourage healthy breaks and celebrate completion, not endless play
- No ads — MinervaSpring does not display advertising to children. If sponsorships are ever introduced, they will be clearly labelled and never targeted at minors
- No social pressure — There are no public leaderboards, competitive rankings, or features that encourage unhealthy comparison between children
How We Protect Children's Data
Minimal data collection
We collect only what is necessary for the learning experience. No real names, photos, or dates of birth from children.
Parent-managed accounts
All accounts are created and controlled by parents or guardians. Children cannot create their own accounts.
No behavioural tracking
We do not build behavioural advertising profiles of children. Learning analytics are used only to personalise difficulty.
Age-appropriate design
Language, visuals, and interactions are designed to be warm, encouraging, and suitable for young learners.
What Controls Parents Have
Parents and guardians have full control over their child's experience on MinervaSpring:
- Learner profiles — Create, edit, or delete learner profiles at any time
- Difficulty level — Set and adjust the learning difficulty (Insight level) for each child
- Accessibility settings — Enable text-to-speech, dyslexia-friendly font, high contrast mode, and text size adjustments
- Adaptive learning — Toggle adaptive difficulty so the platform adjusts to your child's pace
- Mascot guidance — Enable or disable in-activity mascot hints and teaching moments
- Progress monitoring — View detailed progress, achievements, and learning patterns across all subjects
- Account management — Update account details, manage Premium subscription, or close the account
Content Safety
All learning content on MinervaSpring is educationally reviewed before publication. Our content covers English, maths, science, history, geography, art, life skills, and more — all designed to be informative, age-appropriate, and free from harmful material.
If you believe any content is inaccurate, inappropriate, or concerning, you can report it directly from within any activity or through our Report a Problem page.
No User-Generated Public Content
MinervaSpring does not currently include comments, forums, messaging, shared galleries, public profiles, or any features where children can communicate with each other or share content publicly. If such features are introduced in the future, they will include robust safety controls, content moderation, and strong default restrictions.
